The Island is an almost perfect example of timelessness....No vehicles to speak of...no department stores...no cinemas...infact no shops..you would not even know we were living in the 21st century..these people or untouched..Fijians are the most friendly..smiling..and hospitable people.
We had to take the tender over to the island..and it had the most awesome views as we sailed to it...not to mention the view of the ship in the crystal clear waters...
We settled on the sands and had a great time snorkeling the water was so warm...
We went for a walk around the island and their were huge shells scattered every where John and I spent ages picking the right one with no broken bits off it... and John put it in the backpack to take home...I was very excited about it... it weighed a ton...Only to find out when we got back from the long walk that we didn't have a problem taking it back on board but would not be allowed to take it into Australia.. he carried it all for nothing :(
We enjoyed a great time in the water and catching little crab urchins...
Later Pat ventured up to the lookout which was a steep climb... she was the brave one...she got some awesome pictures from the top...
After an absolutely awesome day we reluctantly return to the ship...
